Keep your golf clubs and fishing poles handy when you camp at this shady KOA north of the Red River in the oak-draped foothills of the Arbuckle Mountains. Swim and bike (rentals available) at Lake Murray, a 5,728-acre gem of a state lake. A 20-minute drive brings you to vast 93,000-acre Lake Texoma, famed for catfish, crappie and bass fishing. Parks alongside both lakes feature 18-hole golf courses. Play a round at the Falconhead Resort & Country Club, where legend Jack Nicklaus once golfed. You’ll also find rodeos, auctions and antiquing close by.

Near Ardmore, tour the Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum. Then relax at the campground with its mile-long nature walk, spacious pet walk and five full acres of park-like open space. Browse handmade Native American crafts and locally made candles in the campground store.
