Sayre RV & City Park ( Sayre )
You will find in Sayre, Oklahoma the Historic Courthouse featured in the movie "The Grapes of Wrath" and the Spirit of the West still evident by cowboys cinched up for a day on the range. The signs of Old Route 66 will guide you through Main Street and there you will witness historic buildings from 1901 to the 1940's being refurbished by enthusiastic building owners that have an understanding of the Oklahoma Main Street Program and who support the preservation of Oklahoma History. Not far to the east of Sayre an ancient "Buffalo Kill Site" has been discovered and the ruins of spear heads and buffalo bones are part of an archeological dig by the University of Oklahoma. This important piece of history is being offered to the public for viewing by the Whinery Flying W Guest Ranch where trail rides and wagon rides can transport you back in time.
The Sayre City Park invites vacationers to stop and play a game of golf, fish, miniature golf, or perhaps even catch a rodeo or "play days" in action. The small RS&K Railroad Museum is bursting at the seams with railroad memorabilia and is constantly on the schedule of schools and tourists. Seven countries have been represented in the visits to the RS&K Railroad Museum.
